Which fish should I get first for a 32 gallon?

I'm trying to decide If I should get a red firefish or a midas blenny for my 30 gallon first? I'm trying to keep aggresivness, bioload, and size in mind. Any Suggestions?

I wouldn’t do a Midas blenny due to how active they are. I would do the fire fish first though. If you want suggestions on other fish then I can help with that if you just give a list of the sort of things you want.

Thanks I’ll get the firefish first. It’s gonna live with a clownfish, a yellow watchman, and a falco hawkfish. Do you have any other suggestions for fish?

I would say that’s a good amount of fish, if you want a blenny I would say most of the other species from that genus are calm swimming fish. As for other fish:
- Possum or Pink streak wrasse
- Yellow Head Jawfish
- Clown goby
Just as a starting list

Some others:
Chalk Bass
Indigo dottyback
Azure or Talbot Damselfish (just make sure to have good hiding spots)

Careful with hawkfish on the following:
Masked gobies
Any of the clown gobies

I second this. I have a Biocube 32 and a Midas blenny in it and I’m going to eventually have to return him to the fish store because he’s outgrowing the tank. They’re somewhat aggressive and territorial too. But if you’re fine with that and the fin nipping, then I guess you could go with it, but I wouldn’t recommend it.

I agree with this, although they’re on the slightly larger side of blenniiformes.

True, they are larger, but I find they swim no where near as much. Mine did great in a biocube when I had one many years ago.

It's the one fish that will always have a home in my tank. Great personality, and they change colors depending on their mood.

My wife has dubbed it the "old man", as when they are excited their "eye brows" turn stark white, and somewhat resemble an older person.

I certainly agree with you there, they are much calmer and less of a swimmer than most of the family. Another one that you could keep multiples of are the Barnacle blennies. I currently own the linear blenny which changes depending on lighting and surroundings.
