Which Flasher wrasse?

Even thought I don't have one, I think one of the most gorgeous is the Diamond Tail Flasher, or the Attenuatus. Gorgeous colors on him. I'm currently looking for one through several different venues. :)

I had a McCosker's Flasher Wrasse, RIP Zoe. Darn dottyback bullied it till it jumped. It was a beautiful fish with great personality and an awesome eater. Never bullied anything, and had the coolest colors with a nice metalic blue accents.

Ditto to that! I'm not much of a wrasse person but the McCoskers(male) is very nice.

Attenuatus, of course ;) That's only the 2nd flasher I've ever owned and you can't beat that electric blue color on the male!

Sara, did you get yours off of DD as well? Can I ask on how much they were each? You can PM me if you don't wanna say here :)

oh man!!! that's the best pic I've seen of the Attenuatus. I see mine everyday and looking at this pic makes me want to get a few more. why can't they be as abundant as Carpenters, Filamented, and McKosker's. LoL

Yes, mine is from Divers Den and I actually have a trio of the male and 2 females. I believe the male was right around $200??? Maybe Marvin or Brad can chime in to confirm. Hopefully they come back onto the market as they are such beautiful fish and I'd love to see more out in wrasse collectors tanks!

I know, Gary is the master of fish photography! I can't wait until I have the new starfire tank running running for him and maybe a few new fish to photograph ;)

+100 on this. I would love to get one for my bro too.

also, I would love to add a Red Sea 8 Line Flasher down the road. it'll probably be the last flasher addition since it's the meanest and the biggest. I miss my trio I had almost 2 years ago. :(

Just googled that monster that is one nice flasher.

Thanks :) I"m looking around for one, no hits yet
hopefully, you'll get one soon. I think there is another one that was sold on DD that's unaccounted for. the others are owned by R2R members. good luck man.

sure is!!! :)

How much do one of those run? I'm heading out in a few hours to go pick up two new Mccoskers flashers as a Vday present from the GF.

awesome! congrats on the McKosker's. :)

Red Sea 8 Line Flashers were also around $100+ but when I got my trio, the LFS had about 25 of them so they were cheaper. dunno how they got that many but man, it was hard to pick out the three I took home.

That must be so amazing to be able to pick out of 25 the best three. Too bad my LFS has trouble keeping SPS/fish themselves lol.

yeah, it was hard! but in a good way.

recently, I've been looking at Blue Flashers & Line Spots. I was able to pick up a Line Spot last week. he's doing well. I'm planning on adding a trio of Blue Flashers when they become available. when they flash, they are incredible. I owned a Blue Flasher a few years back. I dunno why I haven't gotten another yet. I swear fishes are so seasonal. when I didn't care for them as much, there was an abundance at LFS. now that I'm looking for them, they are no where to be found! there was a few nice ones at DD last week but didn't wanna pay for shipping.

I've only ever had the McCoskers and the Carpenters, but enjoyed both of those a lot. The yellow coris wrasses look pretty cool as well, but from what I've read and seen they get quite a bit bigger.

lemme ask you guys. how long have you had your flashers?

the oldest flasher I have is the Attenuatus. I got him last March 2010. he was only about 1.5" when I got him. now, he's close to 3". he's being chased around by the Hooded fairy wrasse every so often. I think this hindered his maturity a little. when I added a few other flashers, he started flashing so much more and not being chased around by the Hooded as much since the Hooded needs to keep the other flashers in check also. my plan worked so I'm happy with that. the Attenuatus seems like he's grown and matured so much faster the past month or two. do you guys have any progression pics of your flashers? I'm very curious to see what an adult Carpenter's, McKoskers, and Filamented look like. pics I see seems like they're sub adults. those seems to be the most common ones so let's see your progression if you have them.

Thanks.
