Can somebody please post a couple links to the most popular choices for a reef?

I want best (most pure) food grade stuff.

Maybe I should just ask...What does Randy use??

:p:D:)

I was never low enough to need any [emoji23]

That’s good Randy! When I dosed Nitrate my tank was zero. I brought it up to 4. I went to the bathroom at 4am and all the anemones were completely inflated. Was shocked to see how much they really needed that.

Links to mixing directions for the Sodium Nitrite (NaNO2) ? Not sure i want to keep buying Brightwells NeoNitrate for the rest of my life.

You can Google. There’s a lot of different recipes.

Here’s what Randy recommended to a guy:

Dissolve 10 grams in 1 liter of fresh water. That 10 grams contains 6.14 grams of nitrate, so that solution is 6,140 ppm nitrate.

If you add 1 ml of the solution per 2 gallons of tank water volume, that will boost nitrate by 0.8 ppm nitrate. :)

Do you need to dose daily? Or how long it s needed ?

You can, but the goal is to test and keep some NO3 in the system.

I’m keeping mine around 5-8. Dosing just depends. Every tank is different. Depends if you’re skimming, what export methods are being used, feeding, new tank, established tank, etc. You gotta test to know. :-)

Nitrate. Nitrite might be OK, but I wouldn't generally recommend it for ordinary dosing.

Here's a calculator:

Use the entry for potassium nitrate, and if you use sodium nitrate and are super picky, use about 84% of the recommended amount.

Just wanted to double check my math here, If I wanted to mix this to the exact same as NeoNitro for my 450L Tank (say 100G after rock for easy numbers)

I would need to add 18.8 ML of NeoNitro to raise Nitrate by .5 PPM

Mixing 16.5 Grams of Potassium Nitrate into 1000ML of water then 18.8 ML of that solution should equal 0.5ppm Nitrate into 100 Gallons.
