I have some extra cash burning a hole in my pocket and have been looking for either an Indo Gold Torch or a Dragons Breath, but I can't find one anywhere and ran into these two Hammers that I just love instead. I really want both, but I can't justify the price of both so I need help deciding which one to get. Please let me know which one you would get.

Thanks in advance. ;Happy

Ultra Orange Hammer (Looks pink to me...but that's what it's called)

Why not both?

If you looking for a dragons breath or indo gold torch, your going to pay nearly double the price for 2 heads as you will for both of those.

That's the point...I still need to get the Torches and plan on spending anywhere from $800 - $1,100 each for those...

Neither probably..... Stuff like that is eSy for me to find locally, and I have had bad luck with fancy-cored euphylias online
I can't find any local. I have a couple Aussie Gold Torches, but that's as fancy as I can find in Tucson AZ at the moment. :(

I like the ultra orange more. Plus I think it will look a little better in the current

I haven't tried, I've bought most off my stuff from LA/DD & just a few on a sale here on the forum. But all they can do is say no. If their one of our sponsors they might work a deal.

Neither, but I tend to shop around for good deals.

I guess I would vote orange though.

BTW, the price in the pictures is the amount off the original price not the price of the coral. The sale price is, Orange - $711 and the Gold is - $499. Still not as much as the Torches, but they are not half the price individually let alone together...

$500 for the gold hammer!? I'm almost sure I have the same hammer and I only got it for $150 CAD for 5 heads, and people sell them locally here for $40 cad a head

I voted for the orange...then i saw the price.
Should have added a neither to the vote.

Have you asked for unaltered/under whites pics? After a bad experience I don't really trust online vendors to display accurate photos of their corals.
No, I didn't think of that. I am pretty new to shopping for coral online, I have only bought a few corals online from WWC and they were exactly as pictured. I have tried to get everything local, but I can't find any real fancy Torches, Frogspawn or Hammers here so I am looking online. I will ask if they can provide pics under white lights. I figure they should for those prices.

Edit: I was able to get a four head Aussie Gold for only $400 local, but even they are few and far between.

I am glad @Jrain904 asked the most important question.
I have found I can't see almost can never see past the blue light photos to know what I am getting from vendor's using blue to display their stuff.

For that reason, If I am going to drop stupid money on a specimen I generally want to either see it myself in person or buy it from a seller I trust to supply me with a coral that will look the same in person as it does in the photo.

If you are new to this game, unless you are not very particular in what you put in your tank then I would encourage you to buy locally so you can see what your are bringing home. Some of the on-line vendors on here have shops near to me and I like to shop in the store to avoid disappointment with what their camera can show and what I can see in my own tank.

Hope this helps.

And finally, I've almost never seen an orange coral that looked orange under white lights like I have on my tank.

I can’t tell buy the pics but I would get the one that is branching. If neither then I’d pass . I only get branching frogspawn or hammers, torches are the most sensitive and die easily. Branching frogspawn is the best of them all and frags easy.

I bought an orange hammer that I would say looks like that one for $350 shipped. Keep looking around. The yellow/gold hammer is nice but you can find them for around $100/head.

I was at a swap 2 weeks ago and saw lots of dragon soul torches. If you want a gold/DS indo torch get one in person. There are lots of variety in these torches. Some are nice and some are garbage. You don't want someone with slick photos to sell you a torch and get stuck with a turd.

Marine farmers has orange hammer for $150. It is just one head but still. I bought one, it's orange :) They even have a video. The yellow ones local are around $65-75 a head.

There was an Indo gold on auction by Cali Kid Coral. Call them maybe they can get it for you. You can check then on their auction page on FB.
