I do like the Hanna checker and I use the DKH (because that is how other ALK tests are set up). The Hanna checker really looks great. But they do have a problem. Each batch of reagent seems a bit different than any other batch so each time I use a new reagent bottle, it is ”how big and which way is this shift?”. Also, even though it is digital and non subjective, end point titration tests like Salifert and Red Sea Pro seem to be every bit as reproducible. Now Hanna has an implied DKH of plus or minus .1, Red Sea .2 and Salifert .3 but in my use, they all seem to vary by about the same amount. Also, for some reason, the people at Red Sea and Salifert seem to be able to make consistent reagents that do not change from batch to batch (well usually). If you get Hanna, I would suggest getting Salifert (it is cheap) and reliable and a good back up.
