Hello,

I am confused as to which Hanna phosphate checker to buy, the ULR which measures in PPB, or the regular meter, which measures in PPM. All the discussions on Phosphate I have seen seem to talk about measurements in PPM. Which would you say is best for use on a reef tank, the ULR or the regular? Thanks.

The ULR. No question.

I use the ulr phosphorus checker. When you get your reading you multiply by 3.066 than divide by 1000 to get the ppm reading.
Ex
Say you get a reading of 8
8x3.066= 24.5 ÷ 1000 = .024
Or just tell your apex which meter your using and punch in the number and let it do the math!

Agreed, the ulr. It's the only one if you are keeping low nutrients. Every other test will show zero while you still may have a level of phosphate that could cause an issue. Here's the chart I use to convert: http://www.pny.se/aquarium/
