I have these all over the tank. Came in on a digitata monti and I can't seem to get rid of them. I have brushed them off, stop coral feeding etc.

Can you tell me which type these are?
Does anything eat them (I don't want to use meds if possible)?
Will they kill coral as I have some coral dying in the tank?

I also had black bugs diagnosed in the tank, so I know they can kill coral, but these hydroids tend to favor my blastos and my blasto heads are slowly dying. Could also be the black bugs...

Thanks

Colonial hydroids. as far as I know nothing eats them. I’ve had them in my tank for 6-8 months maybe? I pull them out where I can and cover them with epoxy too. I honestly don’t know if mine bother my coral.

Not colonial hydroids but rather Digitate hydroids. they unlike other droids dont really bother anything. If you do want them gone, placing gel superglue over the top of them or via syringe squirting vinegar on them will rid of them.

Thanks. I tried superglue on the coral it came in on and they grew over it and then now have spread around the tank. It seems like when they are close to a coral, they kill it, so I am thinking they are stinging. Oddly enough, they were all over one side of the tank and have now disappeared from there and have moved to the other side. I have tried burning off of one rock, but they came back there too.

How do you know which kind you have? I thought mine were colonial...but they look like these. Thanks!

Colonial looks more like a bunch of tube worms where digitate are clear
