To clear up which Iodine I personally use it is this kind. I have had excellent results with it. I keep it on hand always. There are probably many other kinds that are jsut as good, but I do not have any comments on them as I have never tried them.
When I get new zoas in I add a couple drops Flatworm Exit and a cap full Iodine to the bag water, that is for a couple cups water. Less if less water. Kills all nudis, snails, worms, etc. I leave them in for 3-5 minutes.
For newely fragged zoas I dip them in straight solution and let them sit in the dry for about 30 seconds. They always open right away and heal in no time.
For zoas not opening I place them into straight solution for 1 minute then place them in the dry for one minute, shake off excess and place into system. Works wonders.
As far as the injections go, this is the only kind I have used. I have injected what is probably not even a drop into the stalk of the problem zoa (one that does not look like it will survive no matter other treatments) and have had good results.
Armageddons have pulled though along with a Joker and now a troubled PPE is making a come back.
Those I have injected more than 2 time in a week time frame have not done well. I recommend to inject no more than 2 time in a week and only if all other treatments seem as though they are not helping.

Check the concentration. The bottle I have claims .0794% Iodide (min).

when you say

"or zoas not opening I place them into straight solution for 1 minute then place them in the dry for one minute, shake off excess and place into system. Works wonders."

do you mean pour it straight out of the bottle into a small container, then dip them in only the iodine? as in no tank water? then air dry, and shake off excess.

just wondering, as I would like to try this.

Your bottle is IodiNe, flr's bottle is IodiDe.

Kent's changed the label from the red label iodine to the white label iodide but same thing. The red label will soon be phased out once all the bottles are sold from stock.

Ldogg, yes, I use straight. I keep a bottle just for treatments. I pour some into another container and dip the zoas into it and when done pour it back into the bottle for later use.

Is there iodine that can be bought outside of a lfs? Maybe a pharmacy as a market might carry a solution that works?
