Which is easier torch or BTA

I have a 140 gallon tank that has been running for about a month now(no fish or corals only 1 snail and live rock. Will be adding sand shortly) and am planning on a giant cave in the middle with live rock. I want to color coordinate the tank. I want purple-ish blue on one side and a red and blue on the other.
I want a blue/purple torch on one side and a black widow or rainbow BTA on the other.
Rn my only plan is 3 clowns an emerald crab and eventually I might try and add a juvenile lightning maroon once I have a bigger more aggressive fish in tank that can keep the maroon in line.
Could I get other corals?
Which would be easier to take care of, torch or BTA?
Could I do both in a tank with other corals?
Which should I get first?
Also any other cool corals that are good for a beginner that fall in these color scheme?

Yet to own a torch but BTA aren't hard at all. However they do have requirements. I would not attempt a BTA until the tank is a minimum of 6 months. Longer is even better. The other thing to warn on is thinking you get to decide where the anemone is going to be. They choose their own spot. They may wander all over the place. When you add an anemone you need to understand that it now owns the tank.

Seeing that your tank is new I would recommend the torch. BTA tend to need a well established tank to do good

Best advice I can give is to not buy either. Get some cheap and easy corals to start. Learn your parameters and get passed the ugly phase. If everything is alive and growing in 6 months then try some generic versions of both BTA and torch. If you keep them both doing well for a month or 2, then buy their designer versions.

I like that! That sounds like a reasonable approach. Do you have any cheap coral suggestions with similar reqs that can get me close?

Last thing. Find a local reefer selling either one to buy your first or all from. No shipping, cheaper and healthier. Much better chances of success.

Here's the link to the livestock forum on this site. Next time all you have to do is hit the search and put arizona in the prefix when in the livestock forum. Start with zoas, softies, leathers and mushrooms. As tank matures you can try some easy LPS too. Check through the local guys first.

Agreed with an earlier post here, Nems will choose their own spot based on lightning/flow that feels good to them, they move. You an intially place them where you want, but ultimately they are going to move where they want lol.

You mentioned you might add sand later. What kind of sand? With the tank being that new it could have an effect on your parameters.

Torch corals arent super difficult if you got the basics down. Another coral to consider is an elegance coral. Similar to an anemone but with out the moving

I would suggest to buy a cheap frag from a fellow reefer, and see how it does. See if it stays alive for a few weeks before buying corals and anemones, otherwise your just throwing dollars at that glass box

I was given some sand when I bought the tank. I originally wanted black sand but everybody keeps saying that it sticks to the magnet that cleans the fish tank… so I was going to stick with the stuff the guy gave me. (Idk what it is… he just said rinse it in fresh water before putting it back in the tank)

Reusing is fine if rinsed thoroughly. Get it in the tank asap.

do the sand before any corals 100% just in case some phosphate spikes or something
