Which is my most expensive fish?

Here's mine, unfortunately most of my fish hate being photographed.
Black cap Gramma x2
Yellowbanded possum x2
Blue bird wrasse x2
PJ cardinal
Redtail trigger
Starry blenny
Chocolate Tang
I have a tendency to like brown fish, sue me. About to add a harem of pink skunks.
Trigger

My turn!

I want to say the regal but knowing she was a rescue it has to be one of the snake eels so I’ll go for the gold spot.

Either the whitetail or helfrichi. Leaning towards the helfrichi.
Ends up being the Whitetail, but I think it could have gone the other way some weeks depending on supply/demand/trends. I think the rest of my fish plans are less expensive than these two, at least for this (first) tank.

ETA: But I can see myself blowing $300 on a Scoly as an impusle buy at some point. Hopefully not . . .

Tied for third at $150.

Second most at $200

The regal was a rescue but still a CB so not cheap.
Possibly the striped snake eel?

My third guess would be the Melanospilos but I believe those guys are cheap(ish) over there

I’m going with guy partly cause I like how it looks

Nope. Pearlscale butterfly is a cool fish but not an expensive one. Though the red sea one are really pretty and probably very expensive.

No and no. $100 and $150 respectively.
Time to reveal that this was kind of a trick question. Though I thought maybe the CB regal comment might give it away. For a whopping $225 it is my other Biota fish (in this tank), my Labroides dimidiatus:

Dang, this just shows how nobody suspects the most common fish to be the most expensive! But it’s worth it for a fish that thrives and isn’t going to die within 6 months :)

Wow! That would have been nearly my 15th guess. All beautiful fish, though, regardless of the pennies spent at the time of purchase.

Yep! I am willing to pay a lot more for a healthy fish over one that I'd probably lose WC.

I'd do my other tank but honestly have no idea :face-with-tears-of-joy: there are like 5 fish that I bought for just over $100. Have you done your nano @i cant think?

I like the idea of Biota , but they‘re so expensive. I’ll unashamedly admit I reserve the Benjamins for the coral.

My nano would be obvious if I actually had my dream wrasse but I guess tomorrow will be a photo spree as currently it is a difficult one ;)

With the exception of a goby to old age I've never lost a biota fish or coral (Though my inability to keep goniopora may change that soon sadly as my barbie has stalled and is perhaps receding). They just seem to do much better in an aquarium.

Speaking of Nano tanks. My 22 has the Yasha, Jawfish and Hectors goby. Any small wrasses aside from the evil 6 line can I put in it ?
I'm saying the yasha is the most expensive ;)
