I am upgrading my lights. I'm torn between two of the 360we with a controller or an ap700. Anyone with these lights want to help me decide? Also would like to know where's the best place to buy from. I should mention my tank is 4ft by 2ft by 2ft

I have a 55 gallon tank as well and with the ap700 hanging about 12-14" off the water it will give you a ton of par and cover the entire tank easily (at 50% power). Also the ap700 just looks a lot sleaker than 2 360's dangling

Is there any way to mount it in a canopy without the mounting bracket? Does it come with ihooks or something similar to hang it to the top of my canopy? I'm trying to find out if I can get away with not ordering the separate hanging kit.

Probably a AP700 or other similar. For 4x2 two A360WE are probably inadequate. They are rated 24"x24" but that's pretty overrated for anything other than soft corals and you will get a lot of shadowing and excess shimmer. Ideal would be three raising your cost to over $1200 so a single unit, like AP700 is probably better in coverage and $$. From where probably is just someplace with no sales tax and free shipping. Like most aquarium stuff its all MAP priced (price fixed). Generally I prefer BRS, saltysupply or occasional other.

It comes with just the light you gotta buy the hanging kit with it, I think it's like 40$. I ended up taking my canopy off and doing it from the ceiling, my canopy didn't sit high enough off my water.
