I have a 250 watt MH screw-in base over my 60 cube and it blew the other day. I'm looking at replacing it with either an XM 20k, a Radium 20k, or a Reeflux 20k. Does anyone have any recommendations on which one to choose from?

i would also agree radium.. but there is also a bulb company known as reef optics that is very good as well.. that is all we use in our shop

www.reefopticslighting.com i think

his name is wes.. i really like the color on the bulb.. and is really good for the price.. but in general i think of your choices most people enjoy the radium

i dont use mh, but from the tanks i have seen and friend. 20k radiums are the way to go (and galaxy ballast)

Thanks for the quick responses everyone. I also forgot to mention I run 2 460nm PowerBrite LED actinics. I enjoy the look but I am starting to wonder if that's to much blue to run 20k's with?

I can say from experience that actinics plus a 20K bulb is very blue. You might try a 14K or warmer color temperature to get less blue. I used to run a 40 breeder with an XM 20K bulb and CF actinics. It was way too blue for my liking.

I love my Hamilton 14,000K blue bulbs. It's just the color i wanted. Thanks Hamilton for making a great bulb but a sh*tty ballast

like my signature says radiums are the best! mine are at the 10 month mark and still look stunning!! i dont use atinics during the day at all!

+1 to the radiums heard alot of great things about the bulbs........i saw WWC tank in florida and they run radiums i believe and their tanks look amazing.

I run three radiums 20 I have tried them all I get the best color with them and last longer with PAR
