Which mobile invert do you consider your work horse and one you wouldn't have a tank without?

Anything I buy that is supposed to do a job never does. Lol

Snails, hermits, crabs, fish never eat what they are supposed to or clean what they are supposed to.

Agreed. My hermits spend their time murdering my snails. Meanwhile my cleaner shrimp spends its time stealing food from the corals. :banghead:

Mini brittle sea stars seem to do a good job at keeping detritus down, I didn't purposely add them but I have a ton now and will probably always transfer some to each of my tanks.

Blood Shrimp - They are highly mobile, long lived (mine is at least 7 years old), and eat any extra scraps of food very quickly. They don't bother corals, don't get stuck (hermits/snails fall and get stuck in acro colonies), and don't typically get eaten or bothered by fish.

My hermit crabs and emerald crabs keep my live rock clean. And my sand-sifting starfish takes care of the live sand.

12g Nanoreef. Zooanthids, Ricordia, Star Polyps and two clownfish.

+1 on brittle stars, got them as hitchhiker now theres dozens. Nerite snails always flip over, crabs kill the snail, my best is probably lawnmower blenny. Hes a tank!

Abalone. But you really need a 150g+ to support them.

Urchins can do some nice work too.

Well invert makes it difficult... I'd say my trochus snails have been my best. However I have some hermits and some other snails, but they don't seem to do much other than walk around endlessly...

If you include vertibrates I'd have to say my wife ;) However I didn't buy her, but she does have a ring... She cleans more algae off the sand and rocks than the CUC ever has ;)

I would say my Candy Cane Pistol Shrimp..he is always working away pushing sand and making his and the YWG burrow bigger, so in that aspect he keeps the sand stirred in his area lol.

But I would be agree with the turbo snail for sure.
