I have narrowed my choice to either Reef Octopus Elite 200 or 220 INT.

The new tank will be built by Planet Aquariums @ 60x28x24... 175ish gallons.

Sump will be Synergy Reef 48x24x16

I'm having a hard time deciding between these skimmers. My bioload should be on the higher side.

200: rated for 200 heavy bioload
220: rated for 300 heavy bioload

Both have a 4.75" neck diameter, but the 220 has a bigger skimmer body.

My concern is if the 220 won't be as efficient since it is oversized?

I would go with the 220. IF it seem to be oversized, which it might under a light bioload, the you could simply put it lower in the water. It will take some time to get to know it, and tune it according to your bioload. It will be fine :)

I think you are right at the point that either will work out fine. I would lean toward bigger if your goal is truly to have a heavy load of livestock. 200g is usually the point where I recommend 10" skimmers.
