So I got my first aquarium, 180 gallon DT with all the fixings in the sump. My LFS suggested I add foxface rabbitfish and powder blue tang first, both are juveniles. I don't think the tang was the best choice for the first fish now that I am reading all the threads.
My question is what order to add the livestock and how many of each.

Currently I have the rabbitfish and blue powder tang.

I want to add:
Kaudern's Cardinal, how many
Mocha clownfish
Picasso clownfish
Black and white clownfish
Diamond watchman goby
Orange spotted goby
Convict tang
Purple tang
Nasso tang
McCosker's flasher wrasse
Male melanurus wrasse
Scott's fairy wrasse
Possibly a green mandarin

Can you post a picture of the tank, sump and 2 fishes.
A picture of your LFS might also be helpful as a warning to others?

Tang looks big in the picture, but it is only about as large as a coke can is wide.

Naso is too big for a 180. You powder blue will most likely annihilate your convict unless that convict is much bigger. And I don't think 180 is big enough for those two very active tangs.

I would stick to two clowns. Usually two pair and kill the third off. Also I currently have a PBT named Flo. Shes a super rude fish and attacks new fish. Im going to get a divider for new fish to be added… mines a juv too. Mandarins are amazing fish, wait at least a year to get one so you can get enough pods but still would need to occasionally dose pods. I have a purple tang I added after Flo, she is boss tang and put Flo in place. However Flo us always pushing to be boss tang and gets too big for her britches and size compared to my purple and starts crap but ends up being chased around the tank and gives up. I would never listen to that LFS if they said a PBT was a good first fish

Sad update. Woke up this morning and tang was stuck to wavemaker. The tang would rarely come out of the hiding place and ate very little. I'm assuming the tang ate so little because there was no algae in the tank yet I was trying to supplement with frozen food, nori, and seaweed pellets.

The rabbitfish is doing great and very aggressive eater. Lesson learned, tangs should not be the first livestock.

Sorry that happened in your new tank.
The rockwork is beautiful.
I would add gobies next.
Wrasses, the melanarus can also be very aggressive, proceed with caution.
Clowns, & tangs.

Do you think the goby will have enough to eat. Just 1 fish in the DT and tank is only 3 weeks old
