Which other montis might grow together?

So, like the pictures below show, certain montipora can grow into each other and even become "grafted". While looking at my sunset and superman monti, I thought to myself, "which others might be able to do this?". I understand that the type (species, genius, whatever) have to be the same. With that in mind, I ask, which other montipora are of the same type and have the possibility to do this? Hologram and mystic? Superman and Sunset? Sunset and Reverse Sunset? I am just looking for ideas and will experiment in the next few months.

That is a question that i don't think you can get a definite answer on. The one on the left will more than likely plate around each other if they grow at the same rate. Odds are it would be a slim chance that they would fuse like the picture on the right. The green and red grafted Monti on the right was lucky to have the same species in two different colors to be able to come together like that.

So basically a manual true grafted coral is done out of luck. You will have to try al lot of Montiporas to find two that really come together.

Also when you get a "Superman Monti" or "Sunset Monti" you could be getting 1 out of the 3 to 4 different species that get this color combo.

There are just no guarantees when it comes to grafting corals. Too many variables and show names will just make it more confusing.

Unless the exact same species (I think that is the correct term???), they will begin to plate or over grow the other monti. Here is a pic of a seasons greetings competing with a Blueberry Sneeze
