Hi to all. I'm new.
I'm trying to choose one sand (no DSB, just 1 or 2cm) that is pink and not too fine at the same time.

I have Bimini Pink from Carib Sea, but it's grey, not white as from their photos and with little-to-nothing pink.
Samoa Pink Grade 0 or 1 looks perfect to me, but i can't find any store selling it in Europe, only the live one that is much finer than grade 0 or 1.

Other sands? Must be white and pink, not grey and pink.

Anyone using Samoa Pink here ? Could you please post some pics just to see ?

Based on specs, Fiji Pink is too fine
What about Bimini Pink? I have one still sealed bere but it's too dark, not white. Very similar to Fiji Pink but bigger

I have Samoa pink in my tank 75 gallon and really like it, it is very fine, I mixed one bag of their Samoa pink aragonite in with it to give it more chunks and will probably add more as I have decided I like having more shell pieces in it. Here are some pics I took for you (excuse my tank mess it's only been up for a couple of months and still going through a bit of an ugly phase) overall I am very happy with the Samoa pink, I have seen the other ones in store and it isn't nearly as pretty as the Samoa pink, I had a very hard time finding pictures of it when I was looking too. Also my lights are actinic and super blue and I don't currently have a natural light option for taking pics on that tank so the lighting changes the way it looks too, but I tried to use a filter on my camera to fix it

I'm doing a 50/50 mix of Bimini and Special Grade. If all goes well, they'll be in the tank tonight.

Could you please take a photo of both when out of the bag? I would like to see the difference outside the water and inside

When the blue light hits it, it will look more white. I had Bimini Pink in my last tank and really disliked how "chunky" it was. But the color was fine.

FYI - I've used just about all the "pinks" and none of them actually look pink in person.

I just got 60# of Nature's Ocean Bio Active Live Somoa Pink this week. It's still bagged, as my aquarium is currently being shipped across the country.

What I *can* tell you:
-- It's not super pink. There are pink speckles.
-- I'd read that the sand would come packed in water, and be wet on arrival. This is not what I got, it was mostly dry (again., I've not opened the bags, so I don't know if it's slightly damp or not, just that it's not wet.

Hmmm. If I have a chance, I'll break one open and get a picture of the sand itself. I also got a 10# bag of Nature's Ocean Samoa Pink Sand #0, dry. I'll try to get a pick of that as well.

#0 is my favorite, but in Europe noone Is selling it

Maybe someone can chime in with a bagged sand that I haven't seen before. But no, in my experience you may get a little speck of pink here and there, but that's about it.

I found this picture... it's not really white or pink.

Just hate to have you chasing something that doesn't exist. I have tried just about all of them over the years! =)

It's dark. So why both nature Ocean and caribsea are showing a very light and Pink Sand if in reality they are near Brown and almost no Pink?

These are very different than reality

The Bimini Pink shown here is perfect for me, but i have It and it's totally different in color and size

Also, mine looks very small
Are there multiple Bimini Pink sizes? I've read on the webstore that mine is 0.2-2.2 but CaribSea tAlks about 0.5-5.5

OK, I'm pleased. The Live sand is actually wet, just well sealed.

This is what the package says the Dry Samoa Pink sand will look like:

This is what it actually looks like. Sorry for the picture quality, cell phone pic, through a magnifier. It's on a white plate, so the white balance is pretty close.

And this is what the Live/wet looks like:

So, neither are anywhere near as pink as the retail pictures would lead you to believe.
Both seem to have a dun, pale tan base color, with very occasional pink flakes. The dry seems to have more pink flakes that the Bio Active Live. I should have water in my tank within a couple weeks, and I'll make sure to get some good shots of the sand in the tank, under aquarium lighting.

I'm building a WB Marine 70.3, with around 2 inches of sand in the display, 60# of BioActive Live Somoa Pink, 10# dry Somoa Pink, and 10# of Florida Keys Crushed Coral.

ETA: both samples are 2 Tablespoons of sand on the underside of a plastic white plate, so maybe a 3" across pile. I should have put a penny for scale.
