I recently changed my aquascape and I have noticed my pod population has been cut back. Obviously a result of changing out the rock. My population was built naturally from the introduction of frags. Now that I want to add, which species of copepod should I introduce? Thanks for the help.

My money’s on just getting a blend and letting them duke it out. Tisbe, Oithona, and Apocyclops are all good choices (still not 100% sold on tigriopus....), and algae barn’ll probably pop in this thread to tell you about the eco pods (and the ulva, which tangs love!!!! : P) which are a mix of those four species.

When it comes to pods I’m a noob. How do I add them? Just pour them in. Is the water they come in “clean?” I have a small nano. These jars and containers look huge.

They come in a clear plastic jar. only way to see them.in the jar is in a dim room and then shine a flashlight from the bottom up.

You just pour them into your tank BUT make sure all flow is off fir 1-2 hrs so they have a chance to swim to LR and find tiny creaves to live in.

Its a great idea to dose tetraselmis phytoplankton once a week bc that's pods natural food source.

Phytoplankton eaten by > Zooplankton (pods) eaten by corals = great looking groeing corals if water quality/lighting is well-managed

If you are feeding fish just add to tank. If you want a population to reproduce add at night after lights out. As far as clean I can speak for my culture only.

Liiiiiitttle bit of pushback here. Tetraselmis is phytoplankton. But it’s not the only phyto that pods eat. There are lots of other phytoplankton species available, and a few mixes. But other than that, good advice.

Okay but one problem no one talks about is that alage barn plankton mix makes your tank look horrible with algae
