I had been using red sea potassium, but I already dose boron and barium with my all for reef and don't want to dose too much of those. I ran out, and have been debating using brightwell's (potassium sulfide and potassium chloride), ME (potassium sulfide and potassium chloride), two little fishies, etc. but was wondering if it would be more cost efficient to get something like this

If anyone has any other recommendations on a potassium supplement or DIY one, please let me know. My main concern with the DIY route is that I have no clue how much raises potassium by x ppm.

PS I test magnesium and dose it semi-regularly

I believe the aquarium versions that you listed have potassium sulfate and potassium chloride to keep the chloride and sulfate balanced in the tank. The DIY version you showed will only add potassium chloride. However you are probably not adding a ton of potassium, so it may not matter in the long run as long as you do water changes.

I am not sure if sulfer is adding in the list of things in all for reef so I am not sure if I am adding that or not to the tank. Im leaning towards the ME one since its pharma grade

I use pohls Korallen Zucht A but brightwell potassium also good

RedSea KH GRO is an alkalinity additive that includes Potassium and is good to keep your potassium level maintained once it is in check. It is Red Sea so it is expensive over time.

That one is fine and there are other brands as well. Iherb/now foods makes some food grade potassium chloride with out other ingredients.

I agree that it won't matter.

I should mention that I also rarely do water changes, primarily because I am unable to do 5 gallons at a time and also because I don't want to have to dose nitrate and phosphate every time. I am probably going to do an icp soon for fun so that should help.
