Hi folks. I am upgrading to a 120g 48x24x24 in the near future. It has 2 drains and 2 returns. I have decided I want to use 2 pumps versus just T'ing one off. What size pumps would you think that I would need? These will be in the sump not on the outside. Thanks in advance. :)

2 600-900gph after headloss pumps.
Mag Drives
Quiet Ones
Ocean Runner
Sicce
Eheim

I use a viagrow submersible pump in my sump tank... its 925 gph, and it was super cheap on amazon...around $40. I know its super cheap, but it has worked like a champ!! It is in my sump and connects to a SCWD, and then goes up into the tank via two inlets. Also, for my CLS, I use a danner mag drive 7 attached to a SCWD. It is also attached to two separate inlets. I've got a TON of good flow in my tank!

Depending on how you set up your drains, they may not be able to drain enough for 2 return pumps or even one. I have a 125RR with dual overflows and I have to scale back my Eheim 1262 because the drains cannot handle the return flow of the pump. If I went full siphon I could do it. You will be in the same boat unless you go full siphon I think. Get one pump first and see if that is enough, I suspect it will be.

Sorry for the stupid question but what are "DC" pumps. Not sure what it stands for.

Also the sump will be an Eschopps 300.

Direct Current as apposed to AC or alternating current. Which pump is that? Can you link to it?

The eheim 1260 or 62 will work for you. I had the smaller version of that sump and it is a great sump. When I had that one I used a Mag 7.

I recently setup a 110 and decided to do the same thing, two pumps vs one. I went with Sicce and couldnt be happier. I have a Eheim as well and was running all three originally and the Ehiem was the louder of the two. Don't get me wrong I love Ehiem and have used them for a lon time, they would make a fine choice. The Sicce pumps are awesome for me in the few months of use so far.

I might have gone with a DC pump but the higher initial cost kinda got me down. Not sure if they have come down in price.
