So I think I’ve decided to give the Quanta Pros a shot, just not sure which ones. I will be running 2 Quanta Pros with one Reef Brite blue XHO. Which 2 bars do you suggest to go with the Reef Brite? This will be my only lights.

I went with one meso blue and one reef crest. I run my tanks with quite a bit of white and the reef crest is great, but with the additional meso blue adds some nice pop. These are the only lights for my tank (20g long). I dont have a full size reefbrite but I have the addon kit for an a360x. The reef brites definitely have less par as the quantas

Reach out to Luca @Lousybreed and he’ll help guide you. Personally, after having my meso blues, I would completely ditch the xho and buy another Quanta bar, plus you’ll have money left over after selling the xho to buy a frag or two. These bars outperform Orphek and xho’s combined.

Using the xho as dawn/dusk basically, so it comes on first and turns off last in the evening. Just curious what would be the best pairing of 2 Quanta Pros with that.

There’s no best. Just color preference. I don’t own them so throw my recommendation out the window, but if they were my only option, id get a tropic sun and a meso blue. Not in love with the ab+ spectrum, and one reef crest and one meso blue would be way too blue for my taste

you would probably be one of the first to go mostly quanta pros as it is a newer product. most people are probably testing the og pop and meso blue right now. What size tank is this for? depth and width are gonna be important for the number of led lights

Standard 90, blue ReefBrite XHO in the middle. Prior to this, I was just running 2 T5s and the Reef Brite. B4 that I ran an 8 bulb ATI fixture. I was honestly surprised that just the 2 T5s and Ree Brite would do as well as it did…..but everything grew just as well as with the 8 bulb. Not that my T5 fixture died, figured I’d give something different a try that I don’t have to replace bulbs.

What's your color preferences. I'd probably run the Mesa blue and either a reef crest or tropic sun myself.
Use the latter for mid day, full spectrum light and the other for the heavy blue. Since you already have the reefbrite for even more blue. Using the whiter light in the middle and the other 2 on either side would be the best coverage.

The 2 T5s I had were both blue+. It was a little too blue for me, but my wife really likes the more blue look.

If you followed my suggestion you could have the best of both worlds. Blue periods for here and a whiter period for you with use of timers.

id go with meso blue and tropic sun. I think reef crest with meso blue and reefbrite might be to blue? I think my setup of reef crest + meso blue is perfect, I dont think I would add another meso blue...

Hard decision…I had 2 Blue Plus T5s before with the Reef Brite. It did look good, but was pretty blue. I wonder if the meso and the reef crest would be a little less blue than that.

Found this on youtube.
Hope they help you visually see some of the possible look.

I wish they would do a full product vid, with each light individually and combos so people could get a better idea of the look they will provide.

Me too. Was also going to do just 36” bars over my 48” tank. I know their website really suggests going full length. Even in my emails with Luca, he’s says that’s a big deal as well. Anyone have experience with this too?

I would do full length. I'm using mine over my temp tank which 48" and the 3' meso blues cover quite a bit, but when I had them mounted over my main tank 36x36x16, it was perfect coverage.

An option to solve some issues with using the shorter bars is to stagger them. Say front to the left middle centered and the rear to the right.

True, but the cost of the extra bar(s) may not make it worth it? I guess it depends on the setup and tank dimensions. Lot's of choices either way.

How many bars are you going to run anyway? If 2 then just stagger the 2. If 3 do as I explained, 4 even easier to stagger.

Here’s the setup (mock-up version). The bars will be mounted on custom printed mounts that will allow me to angle the outside bars inward and they’ll be raised to match the pendants. The 3’ bars are perfect for my application.
