Which return pump would be best for my system?

My system is a 40G Breeder (36"Lx16"Hx18"D) with a 28G NRS-30 sump. I am doing a BeanAnimal overflow system with a c2c overflow. I will be using 1" pvc for drains, I guess 1" for return as well. There should be around 30-35" of head height. My question is what gph should I shoot for and the which pump should I choose? I was thinking 800-1000gph should suffice... I was thinking about the Sicce Syncra Pro 800 or 1000, or the Sicce Syncra Silent 4.0 or the Eheim Compact+ 5000. Let me know! Suggestions are always welcome!

I'm running the Sicce Syncra 2.0 on my 40B. 10 months now and still quiet and powerful as ever. This is my first return pump so I'm not much of a review [emoji12]

The return is going to be tubing with an antisiphon valve and 1 90deg elbow and once in the tank split to 2 3/4 loc-line returns if it matter, I think ima end up going with the sicce syncra silent 3.0 or 4.0 not sure yet though, all advice is welcome

The Jebao DC series are great pumps for great prices!!! You could probably get away with a DC3000 or a DC6000 on a lower speed. The adjustable speeds are nice if you decide to run extra stuff off the pump. GL

IMO, the DC6000 will be too big. I run one on my 66 gallon tank and 40 breeder sump and even with flow split off for running my UV, I still dont run it up above halfway. any more so and it gurgles my overflows. It has been a great pump. I have used it externally for 6 months then internally for about 10.

a Word of advice though, ANY pump you get, dont use an Anti siphon valve. this is just ASKING for issues.

1. they can clog and hinder your return flow
2. its not if but when they fail. ALWAYS design your sump to handle the water flow back if the pump is off. Otherwise. you are asking for a flood.

you are doing it right with a Bean animal overflow, but ditch the anti siphon valve. just keep your outlets close to the water line.

I would do this but because I am doing a C2C overflow there is no goo location besides under the overflow unless I drill through the back of the tank and through the overflows front panels. And I refuse to go over, nothing looks more tacky to me than pvc going over the top of a tank...

Totally understand the C2C aspect and yea, hate to have ugly PVC overtop. Just make sure your sump can handle the drawdown is all im sayin.. my return is 3/4 i believe and splits into a pair of 1/2" loclines.

I may look into drilling through the front panel of the C2c because it would be roughly 11gallons draining back into the sump...
