I had the M1, now using the SP6, I am not sure the M1 is better, the SP6 actually has more flow. They are both equally quiet and the power consumption is about the same. An SP4 more closely matches the output of the M1.One thing i have learned in this hobby is if you go cheap you will pay for it in the long run and end up with the expensive stuff anyways. The price tag often reflects the quality....not alway but usually. I have put 4 different sets of lights over my 40B before I ended up with kessils. I tried all of the cheap power heads until I bought the mp40's. I have been putting together a 240g and wont be doing that game over again lol. I'm buying the good stuff to start with and bypassing the grief. If you can find a way to afford the M1 you would benefit from just getting it in the first place. Just my thoughts [emoji16]
Fair enough. This SP6 does not appear to be a controllable dc pump though. Im not sure how important that is to the OP.I had the M1, now using the SP6, I am not sure the M1 is better, the SP6 actually has more flow. There will probably be at least 5 feet of head, maybe more, since he is using flexible tubing that will have curves in it. Plus, unless I missed it, I don't know what his outflow setup in the tank will be.The DC 9000 will give you 1545gph at 5 ft of head height remember that chart is in meters so you're only looking at 1.2ish meters for your set up at 4ft 4inches, the 9000 might be more than your looking for...
It is controllable with a valve on the outflow leg.Fair enough. This SP6 does not appear to be a controllable dc pump though. Im not sure how important that is to the OP.
