Building a 220 reef tank.
Trying to decide which rock I should use for my new tank.
Was considering a tonga only tank vs 2 islands. Planning on a mixed reef. Was all set on tonga scape but after looking at the tips and tricks thread everyone has created such amazing scapes with a more traditional methods and rock. Don't see too many tonga only tanks out currently. I know the synthetic purple painted rocks are popular right now.

Tonga
Pukani
Marco
Caribsea liferock
Or mixture

Thanks for the help

Personally I like Reef Saver from BRS or rock from John at Reefcleaners. They are pretty much the same thing. Quarried from ancient reefs, they need very little, if any, "cooking" time. I like the look of Pukani, but it has so much bio matter on it you really need to cure it for a while first. Since I'm not a fan of curing my rock, I go with Reefcleaners about 90% of the time. It's easy to scape and pieces tend to just lock into place, really good stuff in my book.

If I do the tonga I think I'll cement it together to make 2-3 structures. Problem with that is once it's made no redoing the aquascape.
Don't k ow if that's a good thing or bad thing

Aquamaxx eco dry rock. No leaching of phosphates that will happen with other base rock and with all live rock. No need to cure it.

Take a look at my build thread. Very good looking rock, just rinse it well.
