im really close to pulling the trigger on a new rodi unit. I have it narrowed down to the BRS 150gpd water saver or the spectra pure maxcap 180gpd units. I'm having a hard a time deciding between there is a price difference but I'm not concerned about that. Which would you choose?

I am running the BRS 6 Stage Universal Plus RO/DI System - 150 GPD. My TDS here is between 400 and 444, a wee bit high...lol. I am very impressed with this unit. The TDS meter, shutoff valve and membrane flush are excellent features.

My TDS out of the tap is usually around 40ppm so I didn't get anything extravagant. I'm using the BRS value with a TDS meter that I bought separate. It works great and seems to be good quality.

Other than the actual membrane they are likely very similar. The Spectrapure is excellent but the Dow in the BRS system is fine too. I think the BRS uses 5 micron pre-filters too, I prefer one or two, but again not a huge deal. Be sure to use a booster pump with two membranes, you want minimum 65 psi going into the membranes.
