Which salt should I use?

I've been using Instant Ocean Reef Crystals until now (because it's the cheapest reef grade salt I've found and seems to do fine), but a good friend (who has an amazing reef) recommended I use an evaporated salt like Red Sea Coral Pro. I'm thinking I'll give his method a try since he's definitely a guy I'd love to copy in this hobby, but I'm curious to know if anyone has compared these (or similar salts)? Why are evaporated salts better? I confess I don't know much about chemistry, so anyone who can dumb this issue down for me would be greatly appreciated.

Absolutely nothing wrong with using Reef Crystals. Thats a high grade salt mix. If his tank looks better, find out what his numbers are compared to yours.

The magic is not in the salt, but how you use it.

If you have trouble finding 100 amazing looking tanks that use Reef Crystals (or just about any other favorite you'd want to suggest), let me know and I'll help!

I would suggest people use the most locally-available salt that fits their budgets and most closely fits their tank requirements. I don't know that brand necessarily has to come into it. IMO.
