Setting up my IM Nuvo 50 for mostly LPS. torches will be my focus but I want to keep my options open some if I can.

Which setting would be better?

Or should I try and come up with something between these? I still have the par meter for a few more hours.

I’d go with the 1st one: you still have enough low light areas for blastos and lords but can easily grow “higher
“ light finger leathers and hammers

Added: but the 2nd lighting looks more realistic colorl

I like the second pic readings.
An easy way to look at par is 300 surface, 150-200 middle and 80-100 bottom, 50 corners.
I think I need a little more par along the middle of the tank since that is the highest point in the tank but I think youre right the second picture is closer.

I keep torches in 250 par
I've heard this a few times but also 150 so sounds like the second picture might be too dim.
Do you keep them in high flow too?

I think I can make a setting that might be better so brb

Personally I'd go with the first one. Almost every non-sps coral will grow well in 150-200 par. The second pic is mostly below 100 par, IMO many corals will struggle.

150 will work too. Mine are mid tank on the side. They get variable low moderate flow. My MP40s only run at 26%.

It's always better to start slightly low with light and increase par as needed versus to high and coming down.

I have lps dominant tank, try and keep the color of pic number 2 and get par a little higher. Maybe bump everything up 5-8% and measure again

I have 100 in my sand bed but have found some corals like acan and blastos find that too bright. It’s good to have some spots 75-80 in case you need to move something to a lower spot.

Keep in mind something like a torch has a 1-2” trunk and the par would actually be about 2” higher than the rock. Take some measurements about 2” above your rock. Down the line you can also build rock up higher in some spots to get coral in higher par

My torches are all 150-200 par and look great

What do you guys think of these numbers? The back side of the tank has plenty of room too and it is the darkest part of the tank. mostly around 75 on this setting with a spot going down to about 50 behind the arches on the left back side.

Edit: oh the yellow numbers are raised off about 2 inches. I was doing that before but now I visualized it.

Great spread. Most LPS will be happy.

Between the bottom one and the new one I just added which do you think would be better? Thanks :)
Bottom. Keep in mind, we all have different lights and will have different par delivery and preferences as well as where certain corals are placed

Hmm.. I have 2 xr15 g6s and a kessil a160we in the middle.
The picture you like the par on has the radions at 55% and the kessil at 15%.

Im going to try 50% radions and 20% kessil now.

For what's it's worth my XR15 lights run 100% intensity on AB plus schedule with mixed reef and thriving corals.
