I currently have 2 WAV pumps on my DT but have not been happy with the flow pattern in my tank. The display is a little funky size wise (32” Long x 22” Deep by 30” Tall) and I was thinking a single Gyre with my sump return might be worth a try.

Any suggestions? My tank is made out of 3/4" glass so from what it looks like I can go with the 330 (additional dry side magnet) or the 350 which is rated for the 3/4" glass. I just think the 350 will be WAY to powerful!

Here are a few pics of my tank, I marked up where I think I would put the Gyre. @csmaxspect, any recommendations?

Thanks
Chris

I'd go with the 350. Since it works out of the box on your tank, and you can always run it lower and turn it up as things grow in where as with the 330, youd have to upgrade if you wanted more flow

That said, if you do switch to gyres, sell me your wavs! LOL.

Thanks for your support.
Regarding this issue, may we double check:
In the beginning, may we ask whether you mind the size of the pump on your tank?
As is written on our website:

Because XF350 is a bigger size, around 12.8 inches, while XF330 is slimmer, around 10.4 inches.

If you want a slimmer pump, we would advise you to take the XF330, otherwise we would advise you to take XF350.
And given that your tank is a bit tall but not so long, if you are going to use XF330, you need to set the water flow higher (Approximately 80% to 100%), so that the water flow could reach the bottom of your tank theoretically,
and also we noticed that there's a wave pump on the other size of tank, it might cause resistance on the water flow made by Gyres also.

Or if you don't mind, you could use XF350, you could set the water flow lower (Approximately 10% to 30%), then the water will not spill and also there's water flow to reach the bottom of the tank.

Thank you for the detailed response!! I am going to have a closer look this evening at the two size options and how they would look in the tank and report back.

As for the WAV pump, I am going to remove that when I install the Gyre. So the only flow would be coming from the Gyre and my return.

One last question - Do you sell extension cables for the XF330/ XF350 to go from the controller to the pump? I don't think the supplied cable will be long enough for me.

Thanks again!

Hi, yes we provide a 2 meter extension cable for Gyre 330/350, if you want to purchase it, please kindly head over to www.coralvue.com/support and submit a ticket. One of the reps there will be able to help you.
