Curious Question. I was looking at purchasing a tang for my 180 and it got me thinking. Is it easier to get a small tang eating/acclimated compared to a medium/large? Is it easier to start smaller or start larger? Or is there no differance at all.. :ooh:

Do you have any other tangs in the tank? I find it better to introduce fish the same size or bigger. Every time I put a smaller tang in, it would get chased by the other tangs. Eventually stops eating and dies.

What kind of tang are you considering? In a perfect world, it would be best to add the least aggressive fish first so that they can establish themselves in the tank. If you are thinking of something like a clown tang or sohal, I would go small and I would introduce it last.

i agree i have always introduced tangs and had issues with chasing around i found it a little bit easier to introduce and aclimate just before lights go out and release into tank after lights go out still have chasing about 50 percent of the times i did this

I currently have a Kole tang aprox 4". I wanted to add one more which ive always adored which is the Naso lituratus. I ended up purchasing one as close to the same size as the kole as i could from bluezoo. Ended up with a slightly larger one which seems to have been good. The Kole was a little territorial at first but in the last couple days things have been great. Even caught them swimming together today which was interesting to me.
