Which Skimmate Collector? Avast vs. Reef Octopus

I am looking into upgrading my skimmate collection from a plastic jug to a more effective solution. Anyone have any thoughts on whether to go with the Avast version or whether the more expensive (I think -- haven't checked volumes) Reef Octopus version is worth the extra money? I happen to have Reef Octopus for my skimmer, but not sure that this is all that important.

Also, does anyone know whether the height of the Essence 130 height is enough for all of these options? I can't find anything easily that shows compatibility as far as height of the two items.

I’m on the same boat you are I don’t want to spend a fortune though on a skimmate collector. I found Eshopps skimmate buddy which will not break the bank. Fits in my sump or outside my sump and I can install a float switch with a break out box. May be doing this pretty soon
