I am new to this hobby and could really use your Help.
I am setting up a fish only 180 or 220 gallon system. I am going to run a in sump skimmer. I am looking at two different type of skimmers, the SWC 230 PROTEIN SKIMMER and the Reef Dynamics INS250 Skimmer. I need your help to decide.... Please let me know what you think and pro and cons of the two.

I would go with a reef octopus. The bubble blaster pumps are amazing and they are all around easy to use and really reliable just my two cents

+1. I have used a reef octopus with Bubble Blaster pump for over 4 years. No issues except for maybe over skimming my water. (which isn't so bad)

I've heard many good things about the swc's , but personally haven't tried them. I'm using a SRO right now and love it

Vertex or Bubble King if you can afford them. They are extremely quiet if that is a concern for you, they are built like an army tank and just perform great.

+2 i've been running my reef octopus with the bubble blaster pump and for the last year. IT's done a great job but sometimes it will skim water too.

I have never tried the Reef Dynamics INS250 Skimmer, but I have used SWC, I have no reason to try anything else cause I am completely happy with it, the skimmer is great and was affordable compared to others at its level.
