Looking at reeftopia to get a small cleaner package. Anything to steer clear of? Trying to avoid critters that knock things over as my goal is to keep my hands out of the tank.
tia,

I would get all snails and just a few crabs. Stick to the Scarlet or Mexican red legs, they do a great job on algea. I would stay away from the blue legs crabs, they like to kill snails for there shells.

Stay away from Turbo Snails they knock everything over. I would recommend Nerite snails they are small and they are great cleaners.

only problem i have with reeftopia.......is some of their snails.....namely the astrea.......seem to be reef stupid.....

and what i mean is......they go out and collect all of these snails off the shore and/or peir(s) that are local to them. so these small snails are used to very large and flat areas.

after i put them in my tank, i was constantly resuing snails that had fallen on their backs and couldn't flip themselves. this seemed to get better after a few days and they learned to hold onto the steap rock work in my tank....but it was definiltely annoying. i prob suffered 50% loses due to snails falling on their backs.

ESSPECIALLY the astrea star snails.....they had alot of trouble holding on.
