Which software for tank builds?

Didn't know about this....pretty cool. Basically if you're "non-Pro" it's perennially free.

Use Fusion if your choice was between that and sketchup.

I use Solidworks at home and at the office.

Something easy to use and a very low learning curve, if your stand is what you're planning right now. I use this for planning my stands:
MAYCAD (relatively simple type of software)

Helps me with measurements as my stands tend to be a little more complex than just 4 legs and a top.

Both look to be very easy, going to try them and see for my build. Seems to be very simple.

Sketchup has been around longer. I also signed up for - there are more aquarium builds shared on Sketchup than Tinkercad, and only a canopy on Vectary.
Both these new seem easier on the get-go than sketchup.

oh wow - old thread revived.

I have actually been playing with sketch up since october when i asked the question.
Gottan pretty decent at it.

a lot to learn - but i like the took. Comfortable now and i enjoy it.

As of the latest version, sketchup changed so the free version is web-only. I hate web apps, so this is rather annoying to me. You can still download Sketchup 2017 @ https://www.sketchup.com/download/all
