Planning for a display tank holding ~65 gallons of water empty, and a sump that will probably hold ~10 gallons of water.

Which of the options do you think would be best in supporting the weight of the tank? I'm leaning towards option 1 but wanted to get some public opinions.

For what it's worth, the stand will not have feet. Option 1 has the benefit of being super close to the beam that leverages the outside wall, but this means the tank will run parallel to joists and only be over 2. With option 2, you are nowhere near load bearing walls or beams. but you get to run perpendicular to 3 joists.

Honestly, for that size tank I don't think it will matter. In general, running perpendicular to the joists is better. But you aren't talking about a huge amount of weight, and with the main beam being so close to the tank either option will work perfectly well.
