If I have AEFW in my sps tank, which sps can I keep without worrying about getting them destroyed by AEFW?

Can I keep the following sps?

1. Digitata
2. Milliepora
3. Montipora

If I keep the above 3 sps types, will the AEFW be starved to death and later down the line I can start keeping acropora again?

your safe with the monti, not sure about the digi but no way on the milli. My diablo milli was one of the first corals I noticed them on.

Or you can get a bug eater aka a wrasse, my faves that tackle that are gonna be yellow corris wrasse, leopard wrasse, and sixline do a pretty good job. And you should technically be dipping your corals to prevent bugs like so.

They will only eat Acropora species. So your Montipora are safe(both 1 & 3 on your list). Then it seems like they prefer some Acropora over others. Acropora millepora is one of their favourite.

Will all of the AEFW be killed if I only have montipora and digitata in the tank? Also, how long before all of the AEFW be killed due to no food source. I like to know so I can introduce acropora again to the tank.

Yes they will die off with only monti in the tank. I personally would wait 3 months. The small fresh worms die fast with no food source so your mostly waiting for eggs to hatch.

I would suggest reading as much as you can about acropora and aefw. You can dip for weeks at a time or try flatworm stop for months at a time or just take all acros out for a few months and all will get rid of the worms if done right. But doing it right is the hard part and that’s what you should read up on. There is a lot of info and threads out there.
It would be Niven if someone did a write up about all the current methods for getting rid of aefw because it’s much different now than 10 years ago.

How about birdnest (pink or green)?
How about stylo ?

Are these affected by AEFW ?
If you add coral to the tank the worms will let you know if they like it or not. I’ve found out that they only eat coral that they like. Usually the more expensive coral gets eaten first because these worms have exquisite taste in my experience.
HTH.

You have to outlast the mature adults... then the last batch of eggs that they lay. The babies don't last long without acropora, but the adults seem to live a long time.

When we treated with Flatworm Stop or Wormwood, it took 4-6 months before the mature adults were completely dead. Never really saw any worms or babies after about a month, but the adults seem to hang around for a while.

The longer that you can wait, the better.

When you said that the adult worm still last a long time even with in tank treatment, do you mean that you still have acropora for the adults to feed on?
How long would the adults last if there is no acropora in the tank?
