Which Tang(s) are best?

Redo the hood. In my qt system I have the hood 8 inches high the side completely around the tank and I make sure the side does not have any place that trap the fish. They jump up they have to fall back into the water. The hood is open top and light sit on rails I build on top of the hood. My 65 gal reef and 40 gal reef have this type top. No fish lost the last 8 years from jumping out. No screen top.

I will certainly have to start planning this. Thank you for the great advice!

My 40 QT top. I route out a groove to hold my light. All of the side of the aquarium covered. All ledge inside are small. If the fish land on it, flopping around will result in falling back to the water. Overflow covered with acrylic. No gap larger than 1/8 inch. Op of hood is 8 inches from top of water.

Really, if it was me. Drop them all in at the same time and you are good to go. Tangs are all good of you put them in at the same time. Some may get too big down the road, but worry about that when the time comes.

My favorites are yellow for their shape and high visibility. My tomini, very good occupant as is surprisingly, clown tang.
Dusomieri is awesot But gets huge as does mata and vaglimi tang. Others are lieutenant, yellow fi and maculiceps tang.

I have a 125 with 4 of the 5 you listed. Switch the Kole for a Foxface and that is my list.

I have a hippo a naso a yellow a clown and a gem tang together they’re dong fine I do not have flame angels I have a few wrasses and damsels and 3 different colored dragonets ( fire, mandarin and a target ) damsels are not my fave anymore. They dig and build them self’s new homes and chase every other fish away i used to have 5 sold 2 back to the store only because they are super hard to catch in a reef !!!!!!!! Other wise no more lol I do not recommend damsels LOL or if maybe just one.
I have the naso for 4 years the yellow is 3 then 2 years ago I put a hippo and a purple tang. The purple started to pick on every coral that had bright pink so I just exchanged him for a baby gem Tang and a baby clown so far so good
My tank is 225 with plenty caves
Also imo i think that when you already have adult fish it is better to add juveniles I also rebuild part of my reef before I added more fish. I believe once they’re established they can become territorial so when you add a new one and it is big you don’t know if it wasn’t a problem fish from a different tank and if when already big is not trying to be the new boss in town :) but if you have some new caves and then new baby fish....it seem to be just fine every time i changed a fish i always got baby’s not big once. But that is me.

As far as your top goes ... maybe make a Glas that fits ? Glas shop near you or they’re some online what ship but in that case shop would be easier IMO

I agree with the other suggestions. Yellows can be first class buttheads and IMHO need other fish to keep them in check. The Kole and the Tomini should be able to coexist in a tank of those dimensions.

I love my scopas tang, she is so nosey and zooms around the aquarium all day long

Scopas are IMHO the best temperament of the Zebrasoma varieties. If they stayed smaller and had more color they would be one of the most popular tangs out there.

Love my yellow. The yellow eye is the aggressor towards the blenny. He may have to be rehomed
