So I am upgrading from my 4’ long 65 gallon to a 180gallon planet aquariums that is 6’x2’x26”.
My current fish list is as follows:
Purple tang
Two spot bristle tooth tang
Foxface Lo
Midas blenny
Melanorus wrasse
2 clowns
2 pj cardinals
2 bangi cardinals
2 zebra dart fish

I plan to add at least one tang and maybe 2. I also would like to add a yellow coris wrasse and eventually a blue mandarin or a pair. And possibly a flame angel or coral beauty but that’s iffy.
I’m looking for opinions and experience. My dream fish is a blonde nasso but I’m worried about the tank size for several years. Im also worried about aggressive behavior but I know each fish has its own personality.

edit:: tank will be mixed reef but heavy with sps (I hope):)

I wouldn’t add any of the tangs above, personally I’d add a hybrid achilles or a Gold Rim.

I vote for the Coral Beauty and maybe a Majestic Angel. Common on - it’s 180 gallons!

Depending on the size of that Purple Tang I would try the Yellow Tang. My Purple was smaller then the yellow I added and it still kicked the Yellows butt for months. My yellow is much easier going then the Purple

Not to flash my Tang Police badge or anything, but you should eliminate the naso, sailfin, and blue hippo from that list. IMO, a 180 is too small for any of them as adults.

A Yellow and purple could work, if you get an older yellow and release them both into the new tank simultaneously. Still, be prepared for some aggression.

Powder blues are demon spawn. So, given all of that, I would then say a powder brown or, my favorite, a convict.

A gem tang for sure and Flame angel if you can find one otherwise coral beauty in which I have both. If a second tang, gem or chocolate

The OP has a twinspot bristletooth which is in the same genus as the Tomini and likely won’t get along even in a 6’ tank.

My tomini gets along with my bristletooth but I switched to Gem

Mine is named, "Pootie Tang" or "Pootie" for short, and she is the puppy dog of the tank.
Mine was Pablo, as in Pablo Escobar. Yes puppy like is very much the way to put it. Active and friendly. Ate all the algaes. Didn’t mind the shallow water of the frag system.

So small and skinny when I first got him, chunked up real fast. I miss him

I understand completely. I started thinking that may be the case. I love blonde nasso tangs but I do want to do what’s right by the fish. If a 180 is too small then so be it.
I’ve heard powder blues are mean more times than not.
