I’m trying to bring phosphates down but heard high alk with lower phosphates causes issues 7.9 and 8.9 have been consistent from morning, afternoon, and evening.UGH. I went down this road a while back too. KHD vs Salifert vs. Hanna. I decided to kind of split the difference then stop worrying about the raw number and focusing on stabilizing the number i picked.
Tested them both 3xRetest them both.
It’s pretty consistent but trying to to bring phosphates downBeing consistent is best. Also try 2 different titration tests. My Hanna and red sea are close when I do double check. Even though my red sea is expired. Not sure if it really matters unless way expired
Yea I bought new reagent just to check and it’s the same numberI have used hanna, salifert and trident. Hanna is always about 1 dkh below the other two. I keep meaning to order new reagent for the hanna to see if that results in some conversion. Since two are very close I’m assuming they’re most likely accurate. Probably best to look for precision anyhow.

Question on the salifert. It shows you have .42 ml left, is that how you read those or do you go by how much was used, or .58?
.42 so 8.9On salifert kits, you go by the number shown- .42 in this case. You do not subtract from 1 to read .58 like some other kits do.
I agree with this totally. it’s ALL about stability.I have seen this alot on threads.
Mine are and have been close for over 2 years now. Just tested.
Hanna 8.3
Salifert 8.0
Elos 8.0-8.5
Elos is just a backup since it is harder to read. You either get 8 or 8.5.
I just started using elos as a redundancy measure if I get a reading thats off.
As long as my numbers are repeatable I dont worry.
Stability is way more important than the number as long as its close to where you want to be.
I would look at testing methods if my dkh was off by 1.
