I have a chance to get a Sera Marine test kit, which I have always heard was one of the top fresh water test kits but someone told me they are not very good for marine.

So, what is everyone's preferred brand of test kit and why?

Thanks

I use Salifert for Mg, Ca, Nitrate, Nitrite and back up for Alk. Hanna checker for Alk and PO4 and (cringe) API for ammonia. I know people complain about the false positives with API ammonia but I've never had a problem. If it's yellow they're zero!

Don't use copper any more, switched to tank transfer for Ich treatment/prevention.

I use Red Sea for CA, ALK, MG, PO4 and NO3. I like the ability to just order the reagents rather than the whole test kit.

I just recently bought the Hanna Checker PO4. I haven't used it yet.

I use Salifert test kits, I plan on changing to Elos as soon as mine run out since I've been hearing lots of good things about them recently.
Elos are great test kits. I've used both Salifert and Elos in the past 6 months, and have actually compared results of both kits for MAG, CA, and ALK. Theyre very, very close to each other. IMO the Elos isn't worth the extra money, and I found the Salifert a lot easier to use. Less steps. Especially for MAG
