I'm looking to order 1 or more titanium heaters for my system (300 gallons total). Just wanted to see what others use. Also, on such a bigger system, would you think 2 heaters split up (1 in overflow and 1 in sump) would be better or 1 large wattage one in the sump would be better? Thanks all for y'alls replies.

for my 225 system im using the 500 watt blueline heater
i find it very accurate.
im only using 1, but im sure 2 would be better

if i was to not use the blueline controller i would use a Ranco controller as there controllers have been proven in industrial

My heater has never turned on. what kinda lights do you plan on getting? Does your tank run cold? If so your lucky. Even with lights off my tank can kick on the fans during summer nights.

I'll be taking my 3 x 250 mh hanging fixture over my 125 and placing over my 240. Usually my heaters (glass ebay no names) don't run much (my dt stays 78-79 constantly), but we do get a few cold fronts a year here. When we do, I usually leave the windows open and the house drops to 55-65 degrees. Other than that the house stays 75 year round. I just didn't want to chance a shock to my system if I choose to ''chill'' out. Lol.

Splitting the recommended wattage into two heaters is definitely recommended in case one goes bad. If it fails off, you have another one to limp by with. If it fail on, it has less chance of overheating your tank. I also highly recommend a Ranco controller for them.
