My tank (15g) is finally cycled and seems stable as far as that goes. I used API for the cycle. I feel like my salinity testers are sufficient for now(refractometer and a Hanna digital) but I’m wondering what higher performing test kits I should start getting. In July I plan to start adding mostly zoas and a couple of LPS as well as a gorgonian. What parameters do I need to start looking at now. I plan on doing weekly water changes of about 2.5 gallons. Thanks for any thoughts on this matter.

My vote would go to nitrate, phosphorus, magnesium in that order if you already have basic API tests. They are poor resolution but good enough for KH, calcium and pH.

My API only does nitrite nitrate ph and ammonia.

phosphate and nitrate. you probably don't need a test kit if you're going to go easy coral.
I kinda thought that but this is all leading up to a larger tank with harder things. Will it help to start those now to learn?

Yes test often, test well. Practice makes perfect. Never dose what you can't or don't test for. Ask as many questions as you want/can.
