which valve is best to control flow?

Hey all,
I have resealed all my joints and hopefully when they dry i will have a dry water plumbing test! say a prayer please!!! lol

1. Can anyone tell me which ball valve is better to control the flow from my Reeflo Super Dart gold, Inlet or outlet????

Most regular pumps don't throttle the water input to the pump, and in our systems we typically throttle the water coming out of the pump. I'm not sure if there could be pump damage from limiting the intake of the water into the pump?
 
Gate valves are preferred for flow control.
They have much finer adjustment, and its consistant.
Yes the valve should be on the output side of the pump.
