Love the green grass...

Here is a pic of mine when I switched from FOWLR to reef. The first pic is of my tank after I sold of the fish I wasn't going to keep and was having major issues of high Nitrates 180+ and phosphates from using tap water. I started with the rock and a purple tang. The second pic was just before I broke the 75g down. It is now all in a 110g rubbermade in the basement.

A couple of those pics remind me of my old 20galreef(?) I had no idea what I was doing back then... had a skilter on the back and a wet/dry with bio balls:) Then I found our local forum and the rest is history.

ps. You have some nice LR in that 1st pic and the second with the blue background is actually pretty sweet looking.

here is a pic of my 75 gallon from years ago. this had to be from around 2002 or so i had no sump, an emperor 400 filter on each side, and the best skimmer ever, an internal berlin airlift. had pc lights

thanks guys for sharing! keep em coming! i had a LOL moment when i was browsing all my old pics and can't imagine back then my tank would look as it does now.

I found another pic of my old 125 aggressive tank. this is from around 2002

i had 2 aquaclear 500's as the filters. no skimmer:tongue:

I don't have any pictures but my first set-up from 15+ years ago I had a fish only 30 gallon tank with penguin filter on the back. Had a Porcipine puffer, undulated trigger and a hippo tang (plus a couple of smaller fish). What!!! LFS said it was ok, lol. Jeez, it was the worst back then when you were a newb. Didn't have computers to look up information like we have now. You guys have it good. I also had to walk 2 miles just to get to school, lol.

you could of squeezed a couple more fish in there from what some of the local places told me when i started hehe

i had a big box pet store tell me it was fine to put 2 porcupine puffers in my 125. it was one of the biggest mistakes i ever made and one of the most vicious fights i have ever seen

Here's my first 55 gallon reef I set up back in 2002:

Yes it is...I got it free from a buddy of mine until I eventually upgraded to a Prizm pro and eventually an AquaC remora before upgrading to a 125 and then a 180. That thing wasn't worth the packaging it was in LOL!

i remember making a mod to mine by cutting the collection cup down by about 3/4 of an inch. with that running the air line wide open it actually worked a little

from the seaclone i went to a berlin turbo hangon and euro reef now i have an octopus 200. i still have my emperor 400's and at least 2 aquaclear 500's laying around. it is so hard to part with the old stuff

Mine would pull nothing out no matter how much I messed with it and then all of the sudden, it would overflow. I still have it sitting around out in my tool shed though. Not really sure why, though?
