Can someone identify the white whispery string in these pix ? Tank currently cycling.

Thanks for the reply. The tanks is still cycling and, to my knowledge, there are no snails in there. Used only one small live rock but have seen no evidence of life in the tank. These things come and go... that was the first one that had about 4'" of length between rocks but others have been between 1/2 and 1" long. Today there are none!

Does the live rock have any of what look to be spikey tubes onthem? Vermentid snails do not move around they live in tiny little calcified tubes and only throw out nets periodically to feed
 
Not that I notice… here is a pic of the rock. Quite a bit of what I think is brown algae but none on the other hardscape.
