White “frost”

I have one rock which has a white frost like growth on it. It looks like freezer frost. Any idea what it is?

Sounds like a bacterial bloom....blow it off the rocks with a turkey baster....I am assuming the tank is new too.....correct?

Could be a sponge. Pictures go a long way.

+1^^ can you take a picture so we can see It? If it is sponge, as long as it's not growing near corals you should be fine. Sponge is known ( at least in my experience to start growing over corals.

Btw, my tank is about 3 months old. The rock was live.
