White algae?!

hello guys.
I’ve been trying to get rid of some algae/hair/cottton thing growing on my live rock.

All parameters are ok. Didn’t test for phosphates. I don’t have a reactor.

Been dosing NoPox and easy-life excital (recommended at the lfs) and doing water changes.
I did a 48 hour blackout as well.
I scrub/blow the thing and the next day, there it is.

I made a small clip with it. Used the flashlight so you can see it. I’m uploading it to YouTube

Is this a newly set up tank? I had it for a while when I started up my tank with dead rock. It was annoying. Then one day it just went away.

The tank is 11 months old...
This started to appear about 3 weeks ago.

Did you introduce a new coral or fish in before it showed up?

No. I added some snails but that was a few days ago, after it all started.

Is that detritus that the algae is catching or it grew out like that? Try getting trochus snails if you are going the CUC route. They work fast and efficient. At least in my experience. Maybe slow down on the clean up for a few days. I'm wondering if the scrubbing it causing the spread.

It just pops out like this.
I scrub or blow it and the next day it’s like this. Like a hairy mess.

I’ll try to do another blackout and see what happens.

And thanks..I think I’ll get some trochus.
