I’ve got some white algae looking stuff on my rocks and just want to see if any of you have experienced this before. It seems to be all in the lower light areas of the tank which seems odd to me..

Maybe a photo with white light will help?

It doesn’t seem to be getting worse very rapidly so I was hoping my urchin would take care of it but it hasn’t at all. I noticed it about a week ago now probably. I just want to figure out what I can do to help it. Anyways, I’ll attach the white light photos

I personally have never seen this, I do wonder what that is.
Can you pull a piece off and lay it out flat?
Some will say pull out the microscope too but I wonder if there’s other types then just this.
How did this get introduced into your tank?

Since it's white (rather than green or red) and it likes the lower light areas, I have my doubts about it being an algae. But it is possible.

That looks like a sponge to me, especially growing in low lights areas.
I agree, but it's spread out all over the rocks in tiny bits which is kind of unusual for most sponges IMHO.

To the OP, can you see any holes in them? Most sponges have at least one bigger exhaust vent hole that is big enough to see.
