Hi, the rock is in the display tank. The white root are in the dark area, in the area that see no light. There is also some very small and narrow tube worm. You are right , there is also some pineapple sponges. But, about white root, what are they? In rear side of the rocks, where see no light, there is a lot of this white roots. The fishes have not interest to reap them too. I don't think that they are bleached, I think they are innate white. But I don't know what they are ?Where was the rock? In your tank the whole time? New to the system? I see some pineapple sponges which are good guys and help clean water. It also looks like could be bleached algae like it was treated and died off. Are they hard or soft to touch?
I see vermetid snails a few feather dusters and a lot of sponges.
