Hi reef2reef mate
Who knows about things that you can see in the attached picture ? Is that things algea or something else? Are those problematic or are harmless?

Appears to be tube worms. They can become problematic in that they will take over the rock surface. Hand removal and/or a six line wrasse will generally keep them in check.

Where was the rock? In your tank the whole time? New to the system? I see some pineapple sponges which are good guys and help clean water. It also looks like could be bleached algae like it was treated and died off. Are they hard or soft to touch?

Hi, the rock is in the display tank. The white root are in the dark area, in the area that see no light. There is also some very small and narrow tube worm. You are right , there is also some pineapple sponges. But, about white root, what are they? In rear side of the rocks, where see no light, there is a lot of this white roots. The fishes have not interest to reap them too. I don't think that they are bleached, I think they are innate white. But I don't know what they are ?

I see vermetid snails a few feather dusters and a lot of sponges.

Hi,
Yes, vermetid snail and maybe feather duster. But you think that white root like things are sponges? I don't think so.

No the white stringy things are more than likely the tube worms of a different sort. Do not know scientific names or anything, but I have had rocks covered in them when gotten dry rock. I scrape most of them off. Probably that. Harmless until they invade too much.
