This leptastrea has been in my tank on a plug for about two weeks. Noticed that it was losing some flesh and pulled it out to see this on the bottom of the plug.

Popped it off the plug and noticed it looks like something bored into the skeleton underneath.

Not sure if either of these are related but I dipped the coral and the plug and scrubbed everything and did not notice anything that looked like a parasite come off. Not sure what to do or if I should try to put the coral back in the DT or not.

The white growth might be a sponge growing under the plug. I'm not sure about what bored a hole into the coral, though. Since it was under where it was glued onto the plug, maybe it has been like that from the beginning.

Setting up a small coral quarantine tank is a good idea if you have the room. I use a 20g long tank with a cheap black box LED light and HOB filter. It's amazing what shows up on new frags even after a couple of months in the coral quarantine tank!
