Hi Guys,

Recently I just purchased a sebae anemone, but previously I wasn't aware of there isn't any white anemone. As all this while i see majority of the fish store is selling white(bleached) sebae.

I bought it 4 days ago, one i introduce it to my main tank it's been stay on the same spot without moving. The tentacles still sticky & i been feeding it alternatively.
On second days i target feed it with brine shrimp, but I'm not so sure how much did it consume as my clownfish been nipping some out of it. Today i feed it with a slice of fresh prawn meat & it do reel in the meat to its mouth.

Does feeding it alternatively is too much? Or I feed it about 2 - 3 times per weeks?

Here's the picture second day in my tank:

& here's the updates today 1 hour after feeding:

Here's the close up on the tentacles:

At this moment, what else I can do to increase the chances of getting its zoox back?

Thanks

That actually looks like a very healthy anemone. It's tips are a beautiful purple. I'd just keep doing what you're doing. If you google image Sebae anemone, you'll see that you're about right on track for color and size ;)

As mentioned, 2-3 times directly per week, small pieces of prawn are fine. If it happens to catch stuff in between from brodcast feeding, no biggie. They can only process so much so quickly.

Yeah, looks healthy aside from bleached, and pretty right now, but there is no such thing as a healthy white host anemone.

Cracks me up at petco they actually make a sign for "white sebae's"

Noted with Thanks, R2R members.
I will keep on feeding small piece of prawn 3 times a weeks, while occasionally i'll be feed the tank with some brines.
I'll try to be more cautious not to overfeed it.

Just FYI regular brine has almost no nutritional value, not unless live or still w/ yolk, or enriched, mysis is usually better

From every picture of a sebae anemone i've ever seen, they've been white with colored tips. I don't believe this one to be bleached. Google image Sebae anemone and you'll see exactly what i'm talking about, this anemone looks alive and healthy to me.

Yup, i knew. But currently those fish store do not bring in mysis anymore, so i'll mix fresh prawn meat with brine in its diet.
I also ordered a NYOS goldpods, will see how it react to it.

Does add those vitamin additive to their food will benefit to anemone? So far only heard those vitamin like selcon benefit to fish, but not sure about anemone though.

I order to track progress you need to take pictures under white light. Then you can see the return of the colors.

Nice looking H crispa.

ya, I'm trying. actually the picture of 4th Aug is under white light, but my phone camera just sucks.

Best I could do with light off and used a torch light

Thats a healthy anemone! The zooxanthelle in anemones can come back if it is in a tank with other things that have zooxanthelle, such as coral or other anemones but it looks very happy anemones can live without zooxanthelle for a little while while it comes back they just need to he monitored more carefully

UPDATES: Will try to get some clearer image, but with my constantly feeding routine the anemone already start to regain back its color, now i can see it was more brownish than white
